I’m planning to give birth in Brazil
Calculate the timeline first, then book the tickets
Brazil is the only country in our lineup that requires no visa: 90 days without one. This makes it seem like there’s nothing to prepare for, and this is exactly where plans fall apart. These 90 days must accommodate arrival, birth, three weeks waiting for the birth certificate and submission for residency. We calculate this schedule before how the tickets were purchased.
Who it suits. For those still deciding — whether to go at all, and at what stage. And for those who have already decided: calculating your departure date costs less than the flight and saves you from an overstay in the country where a citizen was just born.
What is included
- ⚠️ The main risk in this direction is not money — it’s time. Four to eight weeks before delivery, plus around three weeks for the birth certificate — this is already 7–11 weeks out of the 13 available. There’s a two-week buffer, and any delay cartório takes all of it. If you missed the deadline — that is an overstay, and from there Federal Police resolves the matter on a case-by-case basis.
- We calculate your due date and tell you when to fly so you arrive in time to give birth, and submit documents within the visa-free period
- We draw up a day-by-day schedule: arrival, registering with a doctor, delivery, certificate, filing with Federal Police
- We check which documents you need to bring with you and which of them requires a sworn translation already in Brazil
- Getting documents ready before departure: CPF and document package preparation
- Birth certificate and international passport for the child
- Residence application for parents
- Notarial services, airport pickup in Florianópolis and finding specialists
- ⚠️ No visa required: Brazil grants Russian citizens 90 days in every 180 days. But those 90 days are precisely what the entire schedule is built around: arrive at 32–34 weeks, give birth, three weeks for the birth certificate and only then apply for residency. The math needs to be done in advance.
- ⚠️ Translations are accepted only from a sworn translator, registered in Brazil (tradutor juramentado). Documents translated and certified at home won’t be accepted here — the person finds this out usually finds out only on arrival.
- Government fees are paid directly to the authority and are not included in the price: processing of a residency application 168.13 reais, resident card CRNM 204.77 reais — together around $65. A CPF at Receita Federal is free.
- The provider is our partner in Brazil: a Brazilian legal entity with branches in Rio de Janeiro, Recife, and Florianópolis; real estate licenses in two states. His price is published as-is: we add nothing on top we do not add. Client management, document review, and communication with the contractor — that is on us.
What the package does not include
Paid separately and directly, with no markup from us.
- Brazil government fees — paid directly to the authority
- Cartório fee for the certificate and Federal Police fee for the passport
- Delivery and hospital stay are billed separately — see the ’Giving Birth in Brazil’ package
- Birth doula: included in the package for $1,000 or available as a standalone add-on
- Tickets, accommodation, and insurance
- Guaranteed approval: the decision rests with the Federal Police
⚠️ The cartório will advise on timelines for issuing a birth certificate and passport and Federal Police, not us. We are responsible for ensuring the documents are submitted on the earliest possible date, not on the agency’s schedule.
⚠️ The tax implications of living there are best discussed with a local accountant. We don’t quote specific rates: in Brazil, starting in 2026, a phased a new tax system is being introduced, and any figure will be outdated before year end.

We calculate from your due date whether you have time to give birth and submit the documents within the 90-day visa-free period. A written day-by-day schedule and a list of documents you need to bring.
Applied toward any package if you continue with us.
Documents and support from day one: consultations before arrival, airport pickup with a SIM card and transfer, SUS for the whole family, clinic and doctor selection, interpretation at three appointments, CPF, registration at the place of residence, application for residence permit, certificate o birth certificate and international passport for the child, Russian international passport at the consulate.
Delivery and hospital stay are billed separately. Residency fees and the sworn translation at this stage is at your expense.
Prices are in US dollars: the Brazilian real fluctuates, and the entire expat maternity market quotes in dollars. Government fees are paid separately and directly to the authority: residence application processing 168.13 BRL and CRNM resident card 204.77 BRL — together approximately $65. CPF registration at Receita Federal is free. The maternity ward fee (shared room $2,400, private room $3,150) is billed separately everywhere except the ’Turnkey Birth’ and ’All-Inclusive’ tiers. Russian citizens do not need a visa: 90 days visa-free within each 180-day period. SVOY initial consultation — 100 $, credited in the cost of support. For Brazil, its main task — calendar: we count backwards from the expected due date and we tell you which week to fly and which day to apply documents to stay within the 90-day visa-free period.
Housing rental and purchase, documents, bank accounts and taxes, schooling, driving licence — 31 service in Brazil, each has its own price.

The same package in another country
There is only one moment in life, but the documents, deadlines and costs are unique to each case: the rules are set by the country.
