I’m planning to leave: counting two years
From what date the clock starts ticking and whether your income qualifies — in writing, before you fly
People move to Argentina for the timeline: two years of legal residency and naturalisation follows. But from May 2025 the timeline is counted strictly, and most people lose the first year, even without noticing: living on a precaria or on a 90-day tourist stay and convinced that time is passing. It is not. We calculate in writing from which date you have eally start the clock, what getting there will cost, and whether you have income for the category — and we say ’no’ out loud when the answer is no.
Who it suits. For those who haven’t booked a flight yet and want the truth before they pay: freelancers with passive income, couples planning to give birth, those who already received a promise from someone of ’a passport in two years’.
What is included
- We calculate the start date of your clock: from which day your two years begin
- We check the income against the rentier category: the formula requires five minimum wages, around $1,255 per month, but at the appointment they ask closer to $2,000 and the remainder in the account from $24,000 — we calculate based on practice, not a formula
- We identify which residency category is available to you: rentier, employment, family, study
- We calculate the first-year budget honestly: rent in Buenos Aires USD 1,000–1,500 per month, insurance from USD 50
- A list of documents to obtain and apostille BEFORE your flight — it’s cheaper and faster to do this in Russia
- Two-year plan: when to apply, what to build as evidence, when you cannot travel
- If no path is available — we put that in writing, and that’s where it ends
What the package does not include
Paid separately and directly, with no markup from us.
- Document submission is a separate package — first you need to pass the income assessment
- Promises of a processing timeline: since cases were moved from the courts to Migraciones, there is no consistent practice
- Apostille and certificates in Russia: these are third-party fees, we only advise on exactly what to obtain
- Tickets, accommodation, and insurance
In May 2025, decree 366/2025 transferred citizenship cases from the courts and handed them Migraciones, and at the same time tightened the residency clock: two years of legal residence in a row. A precaria, under which a person lives while their application is being reviewed eir case — that period is not counted. The tourist 90 days are not counted either. Departures break continuity. We have tracked this counter from day one and we gather evidence in advance: rental agreement, utility bills, bank records, entry stamps o entries and exits — because the decision rests with the authorities reviewing the paperwork, not word by word. Parts of the decree are being challenged in courts, and we work in a way that your stay was provable regardless of the outcome.
In May 2025, decree 366/2025 transferred citizenship cases from the courts to Migraciones, and at the same time tightened the residency clock: two consecutive years of legal residence are required. Precaria, under which a person lives while their case is being reviewed; during this period does not count. Nor do tourist 90-day stays. We track the count from day one and gather evidence in advance, because the authority decides on the basis of documents, not words.
We charge little for this review and credit it toward the main package. The market makes the opposite: offers a free ’assessment of your chances,’ then charges $5,000–7,000 for support, which comes up against the same meter.

We calculate the start date of the clock, your income, and your category, then deliver a written conclusion: you qualify, you do not, or you will qualify after six months of preparation.
Prices are in US dollars and are all-inclusive — nothing is added on top. Migraciones and RENAPER government fees are paid separately and directly to the authority: they are modest, denominated in pesos and converted at the day’s exchange rate — we list them as a total and provide receipts. SVOY initial consultation — 100 $, credited in the cost of support. The short initial call is free.
