Uruguay permanent residence through a company
When the business has outgrown a sole proprietorship
The same path to permanent residence, but through company registration, and not a sole trader. More expensive to set up and more complex in administration — but it works when the business has partners, employees, employees or turnover that no longer fits within a sole proprietorship.
Who it suits. For those whose business is not a solo operation. For those planning to hire people in Uruguay. Those who need a structure for working with clients, that do not enter into contracts with individuals.
What is included
- ⚠️ Around $250/month in insurance and pension contributions — ongoing an ongoing commitment for as long as the business operates — not a one-time payment. Factor it into your budget from month one: over a year, that’s another ~$3,000 beyond the filing cost.
- ⚠️ Income requirement — from $650 per person per month from your sole proprietorship or a company. This is not a formality: income is verified by financial statements, and the business will need to be genuinely active.
- We calculate the full estimate before the contract and compare it with the sole trader option: the cost difference in the first year isn’t as big as it seems
- We register the company and handle its tax registration
- We prepare and review the residency dossier
- We file and manage the case through to a decision
- We explain company reporting and monthly obligations
- The provider is our partner in Uruguay; the price shown is theirs, published as-is: we add nothing on top. Client management and communication with the contractor — that is on us.
What the package does not include
Paid separately and directly, with no markup from us.
- Government fee of 240 $ per person — paid directly
- Monthly insurance and pension contributions
- Bookkeeping for your registered business after incorporation
- Apostille, notarial and sworn translations of documents
- Company share capital and banking
- Guaranteed approval: the decision rests with the Uruguayan authority
⚠️ Monthly contributions are the main reason why Uruguayan status drop out after a year. We name them before signing the contract, not after registration.
⚠️ A shell operation does not work here: returns are filed and income is confirmed. If you don’t plan to run a business, the more honest choice is a different country — we’ll say so during the consultation.

Company registration, tax registration, residence file, submission and management through to a decision.
On top: a government fee of 240 $ and approx. 250 $ per month in contributions.
Spouse, child, or parent in the same filing.
The government fee of 240 $ applies to each person.
Prices are in US dollars and are all-inclusive — nothing is added on top; this is our partner’s rate in Uruguay. The government fee of $240 per person is paid directly. ⚠️ Separate and ongoing: approximately $250 per month in social security and pension contributions for as long as your business is active — this is not a one-off payment but an ongoing obligation, adding roughly $3,000 per year. Accounting services after incorporation are billed separately. SVOY initial consultation — 100 $, credited in the cost of support. For Uruguay, its main task — a complete first-year budget: registration, government fees, monthly contributions and accounting. That is what reveals the true cost, and not the price of the package.
Housing rental and purchase, documents, bank accounts and taxes, schooling, driving licence — 10 services in Uruguay, each has its own price.

There is only one moment in life, but the documents, deadlines and costs are unique to each case: the rules are set by the country.
