Renewing status and tracking the clock
Renewal 30 days before expiry — and breaking the cycle before it is too late
Residence permit renewal is submitted 30 days before expiry, and for a week the passport travels to the bureau again. But the key part of this package not a renewal, but a counter: six years at 183 days without a single trip longer than 30 days — and from the seventh year China taxes your entire worldwide income. The count starts from 2019, and the first applicants have already reached the threshold.
Who it suits. For everyone with Chinese status. Especially those who live here since 2019–2020 and have never left for long. And for those who have income outside China: rental, dividends, business.
What is included
- Residence permit renewal: submission 30 days before expiry, support throughout, collection
- We run the six-year tax counter: 183 days a year for six consecutive years without a single trip longer than 30 days — and from the seventh year Chinese tax on your entire worldwide income, including Russian
- We calculate your days year by year and name the date after which a gap will no longer help
- We plan any trip longer than 30 days so it resets the counter without jeopardising your status
- We track the whole family’s deadlines together: accompanying members have their own dates
- We remind you in advance — 60 days out, not a week before
What the package does not include
Paid separately and directly, with no markup from us.
- Application to the exit-entry bureau and to the work permit authority: from 15 September 2026, this is handled by an intermediary from the state registry; a foreign company is not permitted to handle such matters in China — we prepare the case and find such a contractor, and he is the one who signs the application
- Tax returns and tax calculation: that’s the accountant’s job — we keep the calendar and send reminders
- Fees: 400 ¥ for up to one year, 800 ¥ for one to three years
- Tickets for a connection-break itinerary
Russian nationals enter China visa-free for 30 days — from 15 September 2025, and the scheme has been extended through December 31, 2027. Entry is free, and that is precisely why people lose money here. The residence permit is a Chinese-style visa for residence — issued only to those who entered on a Z, X1, Q1, or S1 visa, and such a visa is obtained at a consulate abroad. Flying in ’scout things out and sort the paperwork on arrival’ won’t work: you’ll need to leave, to reapply and return. As for timelines, even Chinese agents themselves obtaining work status from abroad takes over three months procedures plus two months for documents and legalisation. We consider this calendar before you buy the first ticket, and we plan the route so that so that the trip is one, not three.
Few people know about China’s six-year personal income tax rule, and it costs more than everything else. A foreigner who has lived in China 183 days or more for six consecutive calendar years, never once during those six years who has not left on any single trip for more than 30 days, from the seventh year onward pays Chinese tax on ALL worldwide income — including Russian rental income, dividends and asset sales. The count began on 1 January 2019, which means 2025 was the first year the rule could have applied at all, and 2026 — year when it’s time to decide. One trip longer than 30 consecutive days resets counter and protects foreign income going forward. We track this counter and we plan the break in advance, not after the fact.

We file 30 days before expiry, manage the process, and collect the completed permit.
Extensions for the whole family, 183-day counter per year, tie-breaking plan, and 60-day reminders.
per year
Prices are in Chinese yuan and are all-inclusive — nothing is added on top. The dollar figure in brackets is for reference, based on a rate of $1 = ¥6.72. Chinese government fees are paid separately and directly: residence permit 400 ¥ for up to one year and 800 ¥ for one to three years, medical examination 480–500 ¥, permanent residence application 1,500 ¥. Russian consular legalisation costs approximately 8,540 ₽ per document. SVOY initial consultation — 600 ¥ ($89), credited in the cost of support. It is charged from the first minute: Chinese agencies offer a free call, but a free call is simply tory about services — and for that fee we analyse your situation and provide an itinerary with a calendar and budget.
