Study grants in the United Kingdom
Studying in the UK is expensive, and a scholarship here isn’t a nice bonus — it’s often the condition that makes the trip possible at all. Fully funded programs are few, competition is fierce, and each has its own citizenship requirements, which is the first thing worth checking.
How education financing works here
There are three levels. Government programmes for future leaders offer full master’s degree coverage including flights. University scholarships range from partial tuition discounts to full funding, and there are noticeably more of them. And then there are university-specific foundations that offer full PhD scholarships.
Check citizenship requirements
Some UK programs have a closed list of eligible countries, and it changes. Before preparing documents and references, open the eligibility section on the program’s official website and find your country there — it saves months.
What to prepare in advance
An international language certificate for the target university, two or three academic or professional reference letters, and a motivation essay tailored to the specific programme. British admissions are built around the essay, and it will need to be rewritten for each application.

We do not publish exact application dates: they change every year, and this page is meant to last months. The card shows an intake window in plain language and a link to the official page, where the date is always current.
