Study grants in Thailand
Thailand has become a notable destination for English-taught graduate programmes in Asia: international universities here offer partial and full scholarships, and the low cost of living makes even a partial award genuinely meaningful.
How education financing works here
The main funding comes from universities themselves — particularly international and technology-focused institutions where programs are taught entirely in English. Government scholarships exist but are more often aimed at citizens of countries in the region. A separate track covers research scholarships tied to a specific academic supervisor.
About language and recognition
Thai is not required for international programmes, but it helps in everyday life. Educational documents must be legalised, and language certificate requirements vary more widely between universities here than in Europe.
Study and status
A student visa is issued through the university and renewed from within the country. Work rights for students are limited, and relying on part-time work as a source of income is not advisable.
