How it works in Georgia

Residence permits are issued by the State Services Agency; appointments are taken at the House of Justice. A distinctive feature of Georgia is the long visa-free period for many countries: some people live here legally without a residence permit at all, and the first the question is always whether you actually need the status.

Unlike Spain and Turkey, where you can barely do anything without a status, in Georgia, a bank account, sole proprietorship, and rental are all available without a residence permit. That is why here we more often talk people out of a status than file for one.
