Prices are in US dollars and are all-inclusive — nothing is added on top. Hong Kong government fees are paid separately and directly to the authority: visa or extension — 230 HKD (approx. $30), initial HKID card — free. There is no VAT in Hong Kong.

How it works in Hong Kong
Cases are handled by the Immigration Department, and the entry permit is almost always falls on a sponsor: an employer, educational institution, or relative. Separate schemes exist for skilled workers and graduates, where no sponsor is required, but you need your own profile — education, income, experience.
What we need from you to get started
- International passport
- Grounds: employment, study, family, or a skilled worker programme
- Diplomas and proof of experience, if you are applying in your field
- Residential address in Hong Kong
Where things most often go wrong
- —Didn’t obtain the HKID within the required period after entry — it is mandatory, not optional
- —Expected mainland China and Hong Kong to operate as one system: Hong Kong has its own immigration system, its own visas and its own border
- —Applied under the skilled worker programme without proof of income or experience
Hong Kong — a separate immigration territory. Residence permit in mainland China does not grant the right to live here, and vice versa.
