no government fee
Prices are in US dollars and are all-inclusive — nothing is added on top. Chilean government fees are paid separately and directly to the authority: $85 for a visa for Russian citizens, 138,974 pesos (approx. $152) for permanent residence, 38,697 pesos (approx. $42) for naturalisation. Fees are set in UTM and converted to pesos at the exchange rate on the day of payment. Chile’s 19% IVA is included in the service provider’s price and is not shown as a separate line item.

How it works in Chile
Accounts are opened using a RUT; for newcomers there is a simplified account at state bank, which often becomes the first port of call. The matter is registered electronically through the tax authority, which also issues right to issue electronic invoices.
What we need from you to get started
- RUT and address
- Description of activities
- Understanding whether you need an account personally or for a business
Where things most often go wrong
- —Waited for a regular bank account, unaware of the simplified option — and spent months without a bank account
- —Registered the business without setting up electronic accounts, and without them you cannot issue a document to a client
- —Didn’t sort out tax residency while earning income from abroad
Fees, processing times, and institutional requirements change several times per year, which is why they are not listed here: we verify and quote them as of the date of submission.
