How it works in Canada
School is free and based on place of residence; enrolment goes through the school district council. The programme and language depend on the province; in Quebec, separate rules on the language of instruction.
What we need from you to get started
- Child’s and parents’ status documents
- Proof of address — it determines which school you are assigned to
- Report cards from previous years with translation
- Vaccination record
Where things most often go wrong
- —Rented without checking which school board the address falls under
- —Didn’t prepare a vaccination record — without it, enrolment gets delayed
- —In Quebec they expected an English-language school, unaware of the language rules
Fees, processing times, and institutional requirements change several times per year, which is why they are not listed here: we verify and quote them as of the date of submission.
