CPF registration at Receita Federal is free. The maternity ward fee (shared room $2,400, private room $3,150) is billed separately everywhere except the ’Turnkey Birth’ and ’All-Inclusive’ tiers. How it works in Brazil

Status is handled by the Federal Police (Polícia Federal), which also issues the CRNM resident card. The Brazilian quirk is that visas is not required at all for entry — Russian citizens receive 90 days in every 180 — but the residency application is filed from within the country and within these same 90 days. The basis through a Brazilian child does not require neither income nor investment.

What we need from you to get started

  • International passport valid for at least six months
  • Child’s birth certificate issued by a Brazilian cartório
  • CPF — tax identification number, free to obtain at Receita Federal
  • Criminal record check with apostille and certified translation
  • Proof of residential address in Brazil

Where things most often go wrong

  • —Didn’t make it within the 90-day visa-free period: the birth certificate takes time to prepare about three weeks, and it cannot be submitted before then
  • —You brought a translation done at home: only certified translations are accepted interpreters registered in Brazil
  • —Arrived after week 34 and couldn’t board the return flight in time
  • —Assumed ’no visa required’ meant ’no preparation needed’

Brazil is the only country in the catalogue where the main risk is not financial and not in the refusal, but in the calendar. Four to eight weeks before the birth, plus three weeks for the certificate — that is 7–11 weeks out of the 13 available.

Fees, processing times, and institutional requirements change several times per year, which is why they are not listed here: we verify and quote them as of the date of submission.
