How it works in Armenia
Residence permits are issued by the passport and visa division of the police. A defining feature of Armenia is that many people live and work here without a residence permit: sole trader registration, a bank account, and rental are available anyway. So the question is always whether whether you actually need status — not how to get it fastest.
What we need from you to get started
- International passport
- Grounds: employment, business, study, real estate, or family ties
- Armenian-format medical certificate
- Basis documents with an apostille and a translation certified by a local notary
Where things most often go wrong

- —Real estate was listed as grounds without checking the property requirements
As in Georgia, status here is a choice, not an obligation. The difference from Spain or Turkey is a meaningful one: there, life grinds to a halt without a residence permit, here it moves forward.
