Prices are in US dollars and are all-inclusive — nothing is added on top. Migraciones and RENAPER government fees are paid separately and directly to the authority: they are modest, denominated in pesos and converted at the day’s exchange rate — we list them as a total and provide receipts.
SVOY initial consultation — 100 $, credited toward the cost support. All services and packages in Argentina
How it works in Argentina
Licenses are issued by the municipality, not the country, and the process in Buenos Aires and in provinces differ. Exchanging a foreign licence requires status and a local document. Insurance is mandatory; a roadworthiness inspection is too.
What we need from you to get started
- National driving licence with a sworn translation
- DNI or confirmed status
- Proof of address in the municipality where you are applying
Where things most often go wrong
- —Tried to exchange a license without a DNI — under precaria this is almost never done
- —Bought a car and registered it without going through the notarial process via the registry
- —Used an international driving permit as if it were a local licence
Fees, processing times, and institutional requirements change several times per year, which is why they are not listed here: we verify and quote them as of the date of submission.
